The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs operate one of Oregon's most active tribal health programs — the Warm Springs Indian Health Service (IHS) facility provides primary care, behavioral health, dental, pharmacy, Women's Health, diabetes prevention, and elder care for approximately 4,500 tribal members on the Warm Springs Reservation. The Confederated Tribes of Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) operate the Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center (Pendleton, OR) — one of OR's most comprehensive tribal health facilities. This person-centered self-direction model is one of the most developed in the nation — Oregon has been a national leader in self-determination for people with I/DD.
