The New Mexico Harm Reduction Coalition is one of the most significant harm reduction organizations in the Mountain West — distributing naloxone, operating syringe services, providing fentanyl test strips, and training community members in overdose response across NM. New Mexico was one of the first states to pass a Good Samaritan overdose law (2007) and a prescription drug monitoring program — harm reduction policy innovations that preceded the national opioid crisis response.
