My Story: From Family Caregiver to Founder Long before I became the owner and Agency Director of Wisdom Senior Care, I was a daughter trying to care for the people who had always cared for me. My caregiving journey began while I was building my own life—raising three sons, nurturing my marriage, working and trying to manage the everyday responsibilities of a growing family. Then the phone calls became more frequent. My parents’ health was declining. There were more medical appointments, missed medications, hospital visits and emergencies. Eventually, my mother began showing signs of dementia, and I became her primary caregiver. For more than 15 years, I experienced caregiving from the inside. I know what it feels like to sit at work while worrying about whether your parent is safe. I know the exhaustion of coordinating appointments, responding to emergencies and making difficult decisions while still trying to be present for your spouse, your children and yourself. At one point, the demands became so overwhelming that I could no longer balance my job with the care my mother needed. I was living the reality of the sandwich generation—caught between raising my children and caring for my aging parents, while quietly carrying the guilt of feeling that I was never doing enough for anyone. That experience changed the direction of my life. I became the owner of Wisdom Senior Care because I wanted families to have the support I once desperately needed. I wanted adult children to know that they did not have to choose between their careers, their families and the well-being of an aging parent. Most importantly, I wanted older adults to have the opportunity to remain in the homes they love, surrounded by familiar routines, memories and dignity. Today, I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner, family-caregiver advocate and community leader serving families throughout Broward County. My personal experience has shaped every part of our care philosophy. We believe care should be person-centered, compassionate and purposeful. Our caregivers do more than complete tasks—they build relationships, encourage movement, create meaningful engagement and help each client maintain as much independence as possible. Through personal care, dementia care, respite, companionship, transportation, post-hospital support, fall prevention, care coordination and hospice support, Wisdom Senior Care becomes an extension of the family. We are also committed to educating and supporting family caregivers through workshops, support groups and community partnerships. Wisdom Senior Care is more than a business to me. It is the answer to a prayer I once had as an overwhelmed daughter: “I just need someone I can trust to help me.” My journey has become my mission—to help older adults age safely and meaningfully at home while giving their families the guidance, relief and peace of mind they deserve. Everything I build is rooted in faith, compassion and a commitment to creating a legacy that honors my mother and helps other families feel less alone. I have sat in the caregiver’s chair. I understand the weight you are carrying. And now, through Wisdom Senior Care, my team and I are here to help you carry it.
