We Know How Hard This Can Be
When a loved one needs care, every decision feels enormous. You're not alone — and you don't have to figure it out by yourself.
Lost in Options
Assisted living, memory care, in-home care — the choices are overwhelming. We narrow them down to what truly fits.
Worried About Costs
Senior care costs are rising fast. We help you understand pricing and explore options that work within your budget.
Running Out of Time
Whether it's a sudden health event or a gradual decline, we move quickly to find the right care before it's too late.
We Are Your Trusted Guide
Services vary by community. With CarePatrol on your side, you'll know your needs will be met.
Assisted Living
Assisted living is a residential care community that offers assistance with daily activities for people who are able to get around independently. Every community offers different levels of support, so it's important to understand the level of care your loved one needs now as well as what health conditions may need further assistance in the future.
Memory Care
An Alzheimer's & dementia memory care community is for people with middle to late stage memory conditions. Often located within larger assisted living facilities or in smaller residential settings, memory care facilities offer special needs and dementia care with additional safety features and clearly designated walking paths.
Independent Living
An independent living community for seniors is there for those who need more socialization than living alone at home. They don't require regular medical services, but they may need a little help around the house — a maintenance-free lifestyle with access to amenities.
Nursing Homes
A nursing home is a care setting for individuals who need ongoing, 24/7 medical care and full assistance, typically due to chronic illness or high-level physical dependence. These facilities provide skilled nursing services from physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists, and are often covered by Medicare and Medicaid.
In-Home Care
There are two types of home services: in-home care includes non-clinical services with professional caregivers, and home health care provides clinical or skilled care by licensed nurses and therapists. Discovering the difference gives a clear path to understanding which services best meet your needs.
Respite Care
Respite care offers short-term stays in a senior living community, giving family caregivers a temporary break while loved ones receive professional support. Stays can range from a few days to several weeks and typically include help with daily activities, medication management, meals, and social engagement.

Senior care costs in the Bay Area are among the highest in the country. See our detailed California long-term care costs breakdown to compare assisted living, memory care, and nursing home pricing. Erica Seich, MSW
Owner · Senior Care Advisor · CarePatrol of North San Mateo County
"Families deserve more than a generic list of agencies — they deserve a guide who understands the whole picture of aging and advocates for them every step of the way."
Erica Seich, MSW began a career in hospital social work over 20 years ago. In both prestigious hospital systems and rural healthcare centers, she frequently witnessed older adults facing repeated admissions due to entirely preventable challenges. Falls, medication mismanagement, and a lack of structured follow-up care created crises for older adults and their families.
Realizing that families needed more than just a generic list of care agencies, she transitioned her expertise into proactive community advocacy. As the owner of CarePatrol of North San Mateo County, she leverages her extensive knowledge of community resources to provide personalized, client-centered guidance across independent living, assisted living, memory care, and in-home care options.
She became a Certified Senior Advisor and Certified Dementia Practitioner to stay up to date on all facets of aging in the United States. As part of a military family, she has a strong connection to the local veteran community and resources, welcoming any opportunity to serve the individuals and families who have served our country.
